A strong focus of our school is Community Outreach. The school actively fundraises for charities who distribute to those in need including the Caritas appeal, Catholic Mission, the Archbishop’s Samaritan project, the MacKillop Foundation and several community fundraisers such as Cancer Council and Diabetes Australia.
Our Junior Joeys Christian outreach group and our Student Representative Council in conjunction with their lead teachers decide each term on our fundraising activities and in particular supporting St Vincent De Paul and Gran’s Van. These representatives go out into the community during the year to participate in activities such as cleaning the beach and spending time with residents at a local aged care facility.
We work closely with the Catholic charity, ‘CARITAS’, to raise funds and awareness during Easter for those in need, not only in Australia but around the world. As a Catholic School in the Josephite tradition, we endeavour to help those in need through our school values of compassion, sustainability, being grateful, honest and inclusive.
