ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY

The First Nations students worked with Mrs Johnstone to create an Acknowledgement of Country for our school. We use this acknowledgement during our prayer services and assemblies.

We stand on tommeginne country.

We acknowledge the punnilerpanner and pirinilaplu people as the traditional custodians of this land upon which we play, learn and teach.

We acknowledge how their cultures and customs have nurtured and continue to nurture the land, water, sky, wildlife and plants.

We honour the presence of the ancestors and we pay respect to Elders past, present and future.

We are committed to working together for Reconciliation. May we all come together to educate, unite and live in peace on this land.

FIRST NATIONS FAMILIES

Our school recognises, includes and teaches the culture and lifestyle of First Nations people. Classes engage in a range of activities and experiences such as Gumnuts to Buttons, Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery Virtual Aboriginal Culture Tour as well as have Aboriginal elders visit classes to teach about Aboriginal culture and lifestyle.
