Principal's Reflection

Dear Families/Carers

Last week, we were honoured to welcome Grandparents and special others to our prayer gathering and morning tea. Unfortunately, the weather was not kind to us, and we moved to the multi-purpose room for our prayer. Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding. Next year, we look forward to inviting grandparents to our prayer gathering and then into the classrooms so students can share their special space and place.

Grandparents and older, wiser adults hold a special place in the life of every child. They are the storytellers, the keepers of family traditions, and the gentle voices that remind us of what truly matters. Through their lived experience, they often share lessons of patience, kindness, forgiveness, and faith — values that can guide young hearts in a world that often moves too quickly.

The Bible beautifully honours this connection. In Proverbs 16:31, we read, “Grey hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life.” Scripture reminds us that age and experience are blessings to be cherished.

At Sacred Heart, we give thanks for all grandparents and older adults in our community who share their wisdom, time, and love. Their faith-filled example reminds our children that learning begins at home, is built upon in the classroom, and continues through the lives and hearts of those who have walked before us.

Loving God,
We thank You for the gift of our grandparents and all wise elders who share their love, stories, and faith with us. Bless them with good health, joy, and peace. May their example inspire us to live with compassion, gratitude, and faithfulness. Let us always remember their words of wisdom and hold them close in our hearts.
Amen.

Staff and support continue to monitor traffic flow during 'Kiss and Drop', and I  thank all families for their patience and cooperation.

To help keep everyone safe and traffic moving smoothly, please:

  • Come to a complete stop (car in park) within the bay areas.
  • Keep your window down and doors unlocked.
  • Once your child is safely inside/exited, move off slowly and carefully.
  • Turn left only when exiting the school.

If you are unable to merge into the driveway, please continue driving and loop back around rather than waiting on the road.

For families choosing to park, please give way to vehicles moving through the Kiss and Drop zone to maintain a steady flow for everyone’s safety and convenience.

Thank you for your ongoing support and care for our school community.

Yours in partnership,

Charlene Best
