Community

Our School community gathers regularly to participate in whole school mass and in celebration of holy days. All special events throughout the Catholic year are celebrated as a School community with a liturgy. All are welcome to attend these events. Please view our latest newsletter for details of current events.

Mid-Year and End of Year student reports are forwarded to families and opportunities are provided for discussion at scheduled Parent/Teacher meetings. These meetings provide an opportunity for you to learn more about your child’s development and for our staff to learn more about your family’s experience at the School. If you wish to discuss any issues related to your child’s education outside of these meetings, please contact the classroom teacher or coordinate an appointment via the school office.

Sacred Heart is also active in the local and wider community. Our School community actively fundraises for families in need particularly through the collection of gifts to be distributed to families at Christmas. We also support the Caritas annual appeal, Catholic Mission, the Archbishop’s Samaritan Fund which supports Tasmanian families, and the MacKillop Foundation. Our Junior Joey group and Student Representative Council members decide the fundraising activities for each term in conjunction with their lead teachers. These activities focus on local charities and change each year to ensure an even distribution of support.
